Cultural Spring City, Charming Jinan

Ladies and gentlemen!

     今天是中华民族的传统节日，端午节。端午节与春节、清明节、中秋节并称为中国民间四大传统节日。2009年9月，联合国教科文组织正式批准将其列入《人类非物质文化遗产代表名录》。端午节成为中国首个入选世界非遗的节日。值此端午节，首先我祝大家幸福吉祥、端午安康。

     Today is the traditional Chinese festival, the Dragon Boat Festival. Dragon Boat Festival and the Spring Festival, Tomb-sweeping day, and Mid-Autumn festival known as the Chinese folk four traditional festivals. In September 2009, UNESCO officially approved its inclusion on the representative list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind. The Dragon Boat Festival has become the first Chinese festival to be included in the world intangible cultural heritage list. On the occasion of Dragon Boat Festival, first I wish you happiness , health and good luck.

      值此端午节之际，我们相聚在奥地利首都，号称世界音乐之都的魅力城市维也纳。今天我们的主题是“一带一路，共话发展，文化交流、合作共赢”。在此，我衷心感谢商会、大使馆的大力支持！感谢大家的光临。

     On the occasion of Tthe Dragon Boat Festival, we gather in the Austrian capital, the charming city Vienna, known as the music capital of the world. Today, our theme is "One Belt And One Road, common development, cultural exchanges and win-win cooperation". Here, I sincerely thank the chamber of commerce, embassy and their support !Thank you all for coming.

     我们来自同样美丽的城市中国济南。我们一行多数第一次来到美丽的维也纳。我是通过“蓝色多瑙河”认识维也纳，通过维也纳了解奥地利。这就是音乐的魅力，文化的影响力。

     We come from the same beautiful city, Jinan, China.  It’s the first time we come to the beautiful city  Vienna for most of us .I know Vienna through the "blue Danube" and Austria through Vienna.This is the charm of music, the influence of culture.

      济南同维也纳有很多的相似之处。维也纳位于欧洲第二大河流多瑙河畔,济南位于中国第二大河流黄河岸边。多瑙河是一条流经国家最多的国际河流，也是卡尔贝克的一首诗，小约翰施特劳斯的一首圆舞曲。黄河是中国的母亲河，中华文明的摇篮，也是冼星海的黄河大合唱。我相信具有相似文化基因的两座城市，将会因我们的参与和共同的努力，友谊之花更加灿烂，丰硕之果更加甜美。

     Jinan has many similarities with Vienna.Vienna lies on the Danube, Europe's second largest river.  Jinan is located on the Banks of the Yellow River, the second largest river in China. The Danube is the largest International river that flows through the most countries,  a waltz by Johann Strauss Jr. The Yellow River is the mother river in China, the cradle of Chinese civilization, and  the Yellow River chorus from Xian xinghai. I believe that with our participation and joint efforts, the two cities with similar cultural genes will produce more blue flowers and sweeter fruits of friendship.

     中国儒家思想的发源地在山东，山东省的省会是济南，济南是山东省的政治、经济、文化、教育、金融、交通、科技中心。南接长三角经济圈，北接京津冀都市圈，东融环渤海经济圈，西临中原经济区，是全国五大经济圈交汇之城。南依泰山，北跨黄河，融山、泉、湖、河、城于一体，以趵突泉、黑虎泉、五龙潭、珍珠泉四大名泉闻名，共有72名泉，808个天然泉，素有“泉城”美誉。济南是一座历史文化名城，拥有2600年建城史。

     The birthplace of Chinese Confucianism is in Shandong. Jinan is the capital of Shandong province. Jinan is the political, economic, cultural, educational, financial and transportation science and technology center of Shandong province.  Bordering the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle to the south and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region to the north, neighboring the Bohai Economic Rim in the east and the Central Plains Economic Zone in the west, Jinan locates in the intersection of China’s five major economic circles. hems in with mountains, springs, lakes and rivers, adjoining The Mount Tai to the south and the Yellow river to the north, is one momentum historical city with 2600-year history. It is world widely known for the＂City of Springs＂, in terms of the Baotu Spring, the Black Tiger Spring, the Five Dragon Pool and the Pearl Spring.

     济南有丰富的旅游资源。独特的地层结构使来自泰山山脉的清澈甘冽的泉水从济南城区地下涌出，汇为湖泊、河流，构成家家泉水、户户垂杨的天下奇观。 “天下第一泉”趵突泉更是享誉海内外。众多泉水汇流而成的大明湖与中国佛教名山千佛山遥相映衬，构成了一幅“四面荷花三面柳，一城山色半城湖”的美丽画卷。

     Jinan is rich in tourism resources. The unique stratigraphical structure makes the clear and cool spring water from mount Tai come out from the underground of Jinan city , "The First Spring in the World" Baotu Spring is well-known at home and abroad..  The daming lake formed by the confluence of numerous springs and qianfo mountain, famous  Buddhism mountain in China, form a beautiful picture of "one city with mountains and half city lake".  

     济南有完备的文化设施。山东省会大剧院、济南市图书馆、美术馆、文化馆已成为济南的文化新地标。其中山东省大剧院常年接待来自世界各地（包括维也纳）的世界级来访演出。明府城、城子崖遗址及济南博物馆、龙山文化博物馆无不彰显着济南深厚的文化底蕴。山东文博会、中国非遗博览会、非遗曲艺周等文化活动，使得济南这座历史悠久的城市，文化味更浓、包容性更强，更加充满活力。

     Jinan has complete cultural facilities.  The grand theatre, Jinan  art gallery, library, jinan public arts has become a new landmark. Shandong grand theatre receives the world-class performances and visits from all over the world, including Vienna.The Mingfu city, Chengziya ruins, Jinan museum and Longshan cultural museum all demonstrate the profound cultural deposits of Jinan. Cultural activities such as the Shandong Cultural Fair, the China Non-Existence Expo, and the Non-Left Art Week have made Jinan, a city with a long history, more cultural, more inclusive and more vibrant.

     明天就是中国的非物质文化遗产日，济南有着国家级非遗项目11项，省级、市级非遗项目530项。这些宝贵的文化遗产是我们的财富，也是全人类的宝贵财富。文明因多样而交流，因交流而互鉴，因互鉴而发展。我们要有欣赏所有文明之美的眼睛，更要有容纳文明之美的胸怀。

     Tomorrow is China's Intangible Cultural Heritage Day. Jinan has 11 national-level non-legacy projects and 530 provincial-level and municipal-level non-legacy projects. These precious cultural heritages are our wealth and a precious asset for all mankind. Civilizations communicate because of diversity, mutual learning through exchanges, and mutual development. We must have glasses that appreciate the beauty of all civilizations, and we must have the heart to accommodate the beauty of civilization.

Finally, I want to use a poem to end today's speech: "The scenery in Jinan is good, and when I really do Jinan."
