日常对话里我们会经常听到类似 “apple” "lemon"等水果名，但是在很多情况下，老外并不是在谈论水果。

听到“You are a lemon.”千万别以为老外在和你开玩笑，说你是个柠檬精，当然他更不是在夸你像个柠檬一样清新。

别被卖了还帮忙数钱，对方说这句话是在损你呢！

lemon除了熟知的“柠檬、柠檬色、柠檬汁”等意思外，还有这两种意思——

①a stupid person

蠢人；无用的人 

②a thing that is useless because it does not work as it should

无用的东西、蹩脚货、废物

buy a lemon

buy a lemon 的意思是“买到假货，买回来就坏了的东西”（一般指汽车、自行车等交通工具）。

①The car I bought last year be sure a lemon.

top banana是个俚语，有“顶头上司，最高人物，主要的喜剧演员”等意思，英文注释是——

bad apple

坏人

一袋的苹果中如果有个苹果坏了，其他的苹果也会很快坏掉。"bad apple"就是指这个坏掉的苹果，引申为“坏家伙，坏人”。

He was a bad apple, I'm glad we broke up.

他是个坏蛋，很高兴我们已经分手了。
