经文化和旅游部批准立项，第四届“湖北国际漆艺三年展”以“器·象”为主题，意在聚“气”为“场”，营造心理与精神时空，表达对诗意生活的追求向往，更意在以其承载对历史与生命的反思。“湖北国际漆艺三年展”自2010年开始创办，至今已是第四届。从最初的六七个国家四五十位漆艺家参展的规模，到本届三年展形成9个国家125位漆艺家参展的体量，“湖北国际漆艺三年展”收获了社会各界越来越广泛的关注与支持。
Officially approving by the Ministry of Culture and Toursim，the 4th Hubei International Triennial of Lacquer Art is themed on "Vessel & Form", which is intended to create psychological and spiritual space and time, and express the pursuit of and yearning for poetic life. More importantly, it is aimed at reflecting on history and life. Started in 2010, the Hubei International Triennial of Lacquer Art is now holding its fourth session. From the initial scale of 40 to 50 lacquer artists from 6 to 7 countries to the scale of 125 lacquer artists from 9 countries, the Hubei International Triennial of Lacquer Art has gained more and more attention and support from the whole society.
本届三年展在世界范围内遴选优秀的漆艺作品参展，以更广阔的视野和格局来构建当今这个时代的“大漆世界”。东方漆艺绵延八千多年的发展历程，其前世今生都是全球化语境下东方文化的一朵奇葩。前世的传统漆器精彩绝伦，让世人瞩目，远传到欧洲大陆；今生当代漆艺的创新与发展则面临挑战和机遇。新时代、新语境下，传统艺术样式如何对接当下的趣味和审美、功能与需求，如何实现传统漆艺在迈向现代性的过程中，实现其创新性发展和创造性转换，这是“湖北国际漆艺三年展”不断推进的学术课题。我馆力图通过制度性的展览搭建高端的国际漆艺交流平台，同时推动漆艺的学科建设和后备人才的培养机制以及漆艺多向度和跨领域的发展，让漆艺重回我们的日常生活，走向广阔的公共空间。
This event selects excellent lacquer art works from all over the world for exhibiting to construct the "world of lacquer" of this era with a broader vision and pattern. With more than eight thousand years of history, eastern lacquer art has always been a wonderful part of eastern culture in the globalized world. Stunning ancient traditional lacquer wares attracted worldwide attention and were brought to Europe; contemporary lacquer art, however, is experiencing challenges and opportunities of innovation and development. In the new era and the new environment, the Hubei International Triennial of Lacquer Art keeps carrying out academic researches on how to match traditional art with current interests, aesthetics, functions and needs, and how to develop and transform traditional lacquer art with innovation in its process of modernization. Our museum aims at building an international exchange platform of lacquer art through holding institutional exhibitions. At the same time, we aim at promoting discipline construction of lacquer art, setting up a mechanism of cultivating talent, developing lacquer art in multiple dimensions and fields, thus bringing lacquer wares back to daily life and public spaces.
经过连续三届“湖北国际漆艺三年展”的成功举办，中国漆艺的面貌已经发生了显著变化，并呈现出新的气象和活力。我们鼓励当代漆艺作品作为传统文脉与当代精神之载体，以其有形之“物”言说其无形之“道”。希望本届三年展能够呈现更深层次的文化思考和更多样化的形式语言，湖北美术馆亦将不遗余力继续发掘与推介优秀的漆艺家及作品。
After three successful consecutive sessions of Hubei International Triennial of Lacquer Art, Chinese lacquer art has changed significantly and has shown new atmosphere and vitality. As carriers of the traditional ideas and contemporary spirit, contemporary lacquer artworks are encouraged to express intangible "Tao" (Spirit) by means of tangible "Things". It is hoped that this event can present deeper cultural thinking and more diversified formal languages. Hubei Museum of Art will make every effort to search for and introduce talented lacquer artists and beautiful artworks.
