■ 寺院最美细节 · 地藏殿（英文篇）

相信大家一定听过这句话“地狱未空 誓不成佛”。没错，这就是地藏王菩萨曾立下的誓愿，今天让我们一起走进“地藏殿”，听法师为我们讲述地藏王菩萨的事迹吧。

I believe we all have heard the sentence “never to become a Buddha until the hell is empty”. That’s right. This is the vow Earth Store Bodhisattva once made.

Today let us walk into the Earth Store Bodhisattva Hall, and listen to the master who will tell the story of Earth Store Bodhisattva.

■ 地藏殿

地藏菩萨，因其“安忍不动，犹如大地，静虑深密，犹如秘藏”而得名。佛典载，地藏菩萨在过去世中，曾经几度救出自己在地狱受苦的母亲；并在久远劫以来就不断发愿要救度一切罪苦众生尤其是地狱众生。所以这位菩萨同时以“大孝”和“大愿”的德业被佛教广为弘传。

Earth Store Bodhisattva gets his name because he is calm and patient like the earth, and thoughtful and deep like a secret treasure. According to sutra, Earth Store Bodhisattva have saved his mother who is suffering in hell several times in his past lives. He also vowed continually to save all the sinful and suffering living beings, especially the ones in hell, since countless eons ago. Thus, this bodhisattva is honored because of his great familial piety and his great vows.

在玉佛禅寺的地藏殿里，供奉着一尊地藏王菩萨圣像。圣像头戴毗卢冠，右手持锡杖，左手持宝珠，左脚踏于莲花之上。

A holy statue of Earth Store Bodhisattva is enshrined in the Earth Store Bodhisattva Hall in the Jade Buddha Temple. The Bodhisattva is wearing a crown like the one worn by Vairocana Buddha. He holds a staff in his right hand and a pearl in his left hand, and stands on a lotus with his left foot.

“手中金锡振地狱，掌上明珠摄九州”，当寺院里的法师叩响梵钟之时，会同时称诵“地藏王菩萨”名号。清凉的钟声通幽彻显，令一切恶道诸苦悉皆停止。

“A golden sfaff in hand rattles open the gate of hell; a bright pearl on palm shines over the land.” When the bell in the temple is striken, monks will chant the name “Earth Store Bodhisattva”. The refreshing sound of the bell travels through the air clearly and stops all the evil, pain and suffering.
