A salary jump for delivery workers is around the corner as the first batch of people to enjoy the tangible benefit of what China’s top leader called “a society of common prosperity”.
Multiple Chinese logistics companies will raise delivery fees by 0.1 yuan for every parcel from tomorrow, which means couriers could get an extra 500 to 1000 yuan each month, according to media reports.
The number of parcels delivered reached 83.5 billion last year, compared with 5.7 billion in 2012, a net increase of 14 times. However, while the industry experiences fast expansion, couriers struggle with strict and even harsh rules capping their salaries.
The rise of delivery fees can be considered as a concrete step by the logistics industry to support the country's common prosperity roadmap that emphasised the fair distribution of income. It may also prevent an outflow of experienced staff and increase companies’ service quality and competitiveness.

连日来，包括中通、申通、圆通、极兔等多家快递公司宣布，9月1日起，全网派费将上调0.1元/票，用以“补贴”快递员的收入，这意味着快递员每月工资能上升500到1000元。此举响应了中国“共同富裕”愿景之下，对完善分配制度，兼顾收入分配的公平与效率的号召，“快递小哥”成为第一批享受“共同富裕”红利的群体。
2020年，快递业务量从2012年的57亿件增加到835亿件，净增了14倍。然而，尽管这个行业正在经历快速扩张，快递员却面临严格甚至苛刻的薪资上限规定。
分析人士表示，此举不仅能帮助提高快递员收入，还能解决人员流失问题，提高快递公司的服务质量和竞争力。
Although you may see a big smile on the face of delivery guys today, but not so much for teenage online gamers, for they are about to get a massive cut on gaming time.
The National Press and Publication Administration has tightened requirements for online game companies to limit service hours for minors and strictly implement rules that users register with real names, and require minors to play only from 8 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, weekends and official holidays, with no access permitted at other times.
As a response, Tencent said that it will implement the new rules as soon as possible to improve the protection mechanism for minors. NetEase and other companies also responded positively. Today, major gaming related companies saw a slump in share prices as the Hong Kong-listed NetEase fell over 2 percent and Bilibili down 1 percent, yet Tencent rosed 3.31 percent.

近日，国家新闻出版署下发《关于进一步严格管理 切实防止未成年人沉迷网络游戏的通知》，针对未成年人过度使用甚至沉迷网络游戏问题，进一步严格管理措施，坚决防止未成年人沉迷网络游戏，切实保护未成年人身心健康。通知要求严格限制向未成年人提供网络游戏服务的时间，所有网络游戏企业仅可在周五、周六、周日和法定节假日每日20时至21时向未成年人提供1小时服务，其他时间均不得以任何形式向未成年人提供网络游戏服务。
各游戏公司纷纷作出回应，腾讯称尽快落实，完善未成年人保护机制，网易同样积极响应。中手游、盛趣游戏、米哈游、心动网络等公司也称将支持和配合《通知》相关要求。今日，各大游戏公司股价下挫，港股方面，网易跌2.07%，哔哩哔哩跌1.07%，而腾讯控股涨3.31%。

Late-stage clinical trials showed that Zhifei Biological’s COVID-19 vaccine had a 77.5 percent efficacy rate against the delta variant. The recombinant protein vaccine was 81.8 percent effective against any severe COVID-19 infections. After gaining 7.9 percent yesterday, Zhifei Biological’s stock price finished 0.05 percent down at 177 yuan today.
中国重庆智飞生物制品公司27日宣布，所研发的重组蛋白冠病疫苗获得第三期临床试验显示，预防新冠病毒的保护力达81.76%，对德尔塔（Delta）变异株的保护效力为77.54%。继昨日A股大涨7.9%，今日智飞生物股价回调0.05%，收报177元。

The official purchasing managers index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector went down for the fifth consecutive month to 50.1 in August, the lowest level in 18 months, indicating a softening expansion of the sector, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday. China's non-manufacturing PMI dropped to 47.5 in August, compared with 53.3 in July, pointing to a contraction in non-manufacturing activities due to the resurgence of local COVID-19 cases in some parts of the country.

The scandal-plagued state-owned bad asset manager China Huarong Asset Management reported a record loss Sunday of 102.9 billion yuan for 2020. The Beijing-based company missed the March deadline for reporting last year’s results, triggering the suspension of its shares in Hong Kong as doubts over its financial health festered.

China's Ganfeng Lithium, the world's biggest lithium company by market capitalization, posted its best ever quarterly profit on Monday, helped by soaring prices for the commodity used in electric-vehicle batteries. First-half revenue went up 69.5 percent year-on-year to 4.03 billion yuan, with net income reaching 1.42 billion yuan, an 8-fold increase from a year earlier. Share price of the company edged up 1.86 percent today.
赣锋锂业8月30日晚间发布半年度业绩报告称，2021年上半年营业收入约40.64亿元，同比增加70.27%；归属于上市公司股东的净利润盈利约14.17亿元，同比增加805.29%。今日，赣锋锂业A股涨1.86%，收报220元。
Chinese food delivery giant Meituan posted a third consecutive quarterly loss on Monday as the company indicated previously an investment in growing their grocery business and e-commerce business. Meituan reported a 2.21 billion yuan loss in the second quarter, yet managed to achieve a 77 percent increase from a year ago. The company closed 9.02 percent higher in Hong Kong today.
