正在热播的《知否知否应是绿肥红瘦》，由颖宝和冯绍峰主演，虽然收视率一路飙升，但争议颇多，就连“语文老师”都来纠正病句了：

当然了，喜欢英语的小伙伴们或许更好奇剧名的翻译，到底怎么翻译比较合适呢？

剧名《知否知否应是绿肥红瘦》出自宋代女词人李清照《如梦令·昨夜雨疏风骤》一词：

昨夜雨疏风骤，

浓睡不消残酒。

试问卷帘人，

却道“海棠依旧”。

“知否，知否？应是绿肥红瘦！”

赏析：这首小令写的是春夜里大自然经历了一场风吹雨打，词人预感到庭园中的花木必然是绿叶繁茂，花事凋零了。因此，翌日清晨她急切地向“卷帘人”询问室外的变化，粗心的“卷帘人”却答之以“海棠依旧”。对此，词人禁不住连用两个“知否”与一个“应是”来纠正其观察的粗疏与回答的错误。“绿肥红瘦”一句，形象地反映出作者对春天将逝的惋惜之情。

许渊冲老先生将“知否”译为“don't you know”，相比“Do you know”,更有韵味！后半句的“绿肥红瘦”译为“The red should languish and the green must grow.”，“The red ”统称为“红花”，“the green”统称为“绿叶”，“肥”对应“grow”，“瘦”对应“languish”。

扬戴两位老先生将“知否”译为“Can't you see?”，与许老先生的“don't you know”相差无几，后半句的“肥”对应“fresh”，“瘦”对应“fading”。

gaunt：adj. 憔悴的；荒凉的；枯瘦的

龚先生将“知否”译为“Do you know?”，或许有些韵味不足，后半句的“肥”对应“corpulent”，“瘦”对应“gaunt”。

不管是哪种译本，在翻译“肥”和“瘦”这两个词时，三位老先生想必是斟酌了许久，带给大家的感觉多少也是不一样的。
