大清银币短须龙壹圆,清宣统三年(1911)天津造币总厂铸,清政府拟订了《整顿圜法章程》十条,其中提出银币专由造币总厂制造,。当时清政府欲统一币制,聘请海外高级技师精心设计制造了这套宣统三年大清银币,计有六、七种版式,短须龙是其中之一,新币刚试铸成功,正逢武昌起义,于是大部分新版银币胎死腹中,只留有少量币种。短须龙因背面龙首之须特短而得名,属于试样性质,因图案精致、存世稀少而受人重视。

此枚“宣统三年大清银币（短须龙）”正面珠圈内为汉文“大清银币”四字,珠圈外上下为满、汉文“宣统三年”字样,直齿边，左右两侧分列长枝菊花纹饰。背面“壹圆”二字坐中,外围是巨龙腾空,自上至左向右环绕一周,七根尾须向上,龙头置上,鼻梁突起,两眼炯炯有神,龙纹精细,火球在下,下方边缘是英文“壹圆”。设计新颖,制作精良,存世稀少,极具收藏及投资价值。
