《向前进·向前进》是一件关于老年芭蕾舞爱好者的纪录片及装置作品。她感兴趣的是芭蕾舞在特殊的时代给人们留下的不同记忆，和她与现代社会之间形成的一种关系。早年西方芭蕾舞进入中国，它如何从古典芭蕾变成一种意识形态的传播工具？人们不能选择自己所看的内容究竟是《胡桃夹子》还是《红色娘子军》，但舞蹈的形式，足尖的轨迹，敲击着人们的美感。在《向前进·向前进》作品中每只破损的舞鞋，都承载着舞者的独特故事以及那个时间段的世间常态。
作品主要部分：从中央芭蕾舞团收集的1000多双旧舞鞋组成。高6米，直径2.5米的一椎体装置，破损的舞鞋承载着每个舞者的独特故事，而这些破旧的舞鞋恰是对于芭蕾舞唯美经典的背面呈现。展出空间回响着舞鞋敲打地板的特殊声音。
另一部分：以北京社区老年活动团的老年舞者为对象做的一些关于成长、记忆、梦想、现实的采访及中国芭蓄舞经典片段《红色娘子军》《天鹅湖》组成。芭蕾对于普通人来说是一种具有崇高性与距离感的艺术形式，老年舞者用她们不很专业的舞姿剧瞬前行着，表达着她们勇于实现梦想，敢于向前进的生命状态。另一部分：为黑白片影像，影片不断循环播放穿着足尖鞋负着沉重肉体向前行走的老年舞者。
Moving forward, moving forward is a documentary and installation about ballet lovers for the elderly. She was interested in the different memories that ballet made at a particular time, and in the relationship it formed with modern society. In the early years when western ballet entered China, how did it change from classical ballet to an ideological communication tool? People can't choose whether they are watching the nutcracker or the red detachment of women, but the form of dance, the track of toes, strikes people's aesthetic feeling. In go ahead, go ahead, every broken shoe in the work carries the dancer's unique story and the normal world of that period.
The main part of the artwork:The artwork is made up by more than 1000 pairs of ballet shoes.The shoes werecolleted from The National Ballet of China.It is a 6 meters high and 2.5 meters in diameter conical installation.Each pair of these old ballet shoes carries a unique story of a dancer,and these old shoes are the representarion of the beauty and classics of ballet dance.The sound of ballet shoes hitting the ground is reverberated in the exhibition space.
One part of this artwork consists of interviews with Beijing Senior Citizens Activities Center towards the topic of growth,memory,dream,and reality and the classic clips from the ballet dance Red Detachment of Women and Swan Lake by National Ballet of China.Ballet danee is a sublime art form which keeps most of the ordinary people away from it.However,senior dancers are moving forward step by step with their non-professional ballet moves and postures,which shows their courage of chasing dream.Another part of this artwork is a black and white video clip.In this video clip,a senior dancer wearing ballet shoes is sepping forward and bearing allher weight on her foot.

展厅另一侧是姜杰的一件写实雕塑作品，分外逼真的塑造了一位芭蕾舞者,在粉色的幕布的衬托下以优雅的姿态背对观者，与《向前进，向前进》遥相呼应。
