Local GDP growth paces in Chinese provinces showed a mixed performance in the first three quarters of 2021. Despite a series of challenges, including new COVID-19 outbreaks and heavy rains that constrained economic activities, 8 of the 31 provincial-level economies expanded at speeds above 10 percent, and 10 provinces managed to stay ahead of China’s GDP growth of 9.8 percent.
Central China's Hubei Province, which was hit hardest by the COVID-19 epidemic last year, expanded at the fastest pace in the first three quarters, with a pace of 18.7 percent. South China's Hainan Province and the capital Beijing were in second and third positions, with growth rates of 12.8 percent and 10.7 percent, respectively.
In terms of volume, Guangdong Province, known as the country's manufacturing base and export engine, championed with a GDP of 8.8 trillion yuan in the first three quarters. Jiangsu ranked second, with 8.4 trillion yuan in GDP, leaving a huge gap of 2.4 trillion yuan with the following Shandong Province.
The rise of raw material prices also pushed trade volume of a couple of central and southwestern provinces to take a surprising lead ahead of traditional powerhouses like Guangdong and Jiangsu.
Shanghai takes the crown among Chinese cities with a record GDP of 3.09 trillion yuan, representing an increase of 9.8 percent. Three other cities' GDP surpassed 2 trillion yuan, including Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
Hong Kong also revealed on Monday that its preliminary third-quarter GDP stood at 5.4 percent, compares with a growth rate of 7.6 percent in the second quarter. The financial hub's economy lost momentum in the third quarter as exports slowed, and the bounce from last year's pandemic-induced slump has largely run its course.
随着西藏公布GDP数据，全国31省份2021年前三季度“成绩单”均已出炉。从2021年前三季度的经济增长情况来看，8省份的GDP增速超10%，10省份跑赢全国GDP。
湖北的GDP增速最高，为18.7%。2020年湖北受疫情影响最为严重，导致2020年基数较低，高增速很大程度在意料之中。海南前三季度的GDP增速表现突出，达到了12.8%，排名第二。紧随其后的是北京，前三季度GDP增速10.7%。
从经济总量来看，广东以8.8万亿的GDP稳居首位。江苏以8.4万亿位居第二，继续缩小与广东的差距，并以超过2.4万亿的差距，一骑红尘领先于第三位的山东。
外贸表现上，中部、西南部多个地区出口增速异军突起，赶超广东、江苏等传统外贸大省。例如，前三季度，山西进出口总额达1703.4亿元，增长76.8%，增速位居全国前列。
那么，各大城市在GDP排位战中又表现如何呢？“北上广深”的领先地位重新获得巩固，前三季度GDP均超过了2万亿元。其中，上海前三季度GDP首次突破3万亿元，北京排名第二为29753亿元，第三位的深圳为21791.18亿元。值得注意的是，今年广州前三季度GDP以不足100亿的微弱优势反超重庆，夺回第四位。
香港昨天也公布了最新的预估数字，在连续两季经济强劲反弹之后，第三季GDP按年升幅放缓至5.4%，主要因为基数效应以及经济在上半年表现较预期强劲。香港财政司司长陈茂波31日表示，香港大部分的经济指标今年以来都持续改善，预计香港今年经济增长将接近6.5%。

Sales in China’s property sector continued to cool in the traditional high seasons of September and October. Last month, property sales of the country’s top 100 developers dropped 32.2 percent year-on-year by value, following a 36.2 percent slump in the previous month. The contraction further adds to developers’ already heavy financial burdens as their access to financing kept tightening amid regulators’ ongoing campaign to deleverage the indebted industry.

ByteDance announced on Tuesday that Liang Rubo officially takes over as CEO since founder Zhang Yiming decided to step down in May. An internal memo sent by Liang outlines a major reshuffle at the Beijing-based company to create six business units (BUs). News aggregator Toutiao and video-streaming platform Xigua will be folded into the Douyin unit, which will take over all ""information and service"" operations in the Chinese market.

Chinese battery giant CATL's attempt to take over Millennial Lithium is on the rocks after the Canadian lithium ore miner received a superior offer from compatriot Lithium Americas, who has submitted a bid 22.1 percent higher than that of CATL.

HNA Group’s restructuring plan was given the official green light by the Higher People’s Court of Hainan province yesterday, the heavily indebted Chinese conglomerate said in a statement. Media report that the restructuring will include capital injection by strategic investors and the transfer of equities, assets and management rights.
10月31日，海航集团及相关企业重整计划获法院终审裁定通过，意味着此前获得高票通过的包括*ST海航在内海航几个重整草案，在获得法院裁定后将进入实施阶段。

Forty-one banks listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges have released third-quarter earnings reports, showing an ongoing recovery in both revenues and profits. Reports show that the total net profit of the 41 banks is nearly 1.5 trillion yuan, up 13.6 percent year-on-year.
银行2021年三季报收官，整体来看，A股41家上市银行均实现了营收和净利润的双升。三季报数据显示，今年前三季度，41家上市银行合计实现归属于母公司股东的净利润逼近1.5万亿元，较去年同期增长13.61%。

Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday with cyclical sectors like steel, coal and petrol tumbling the most. The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.1 percent today, while the Shenzhen Component Index and the Hang Seng Index fell 0.69 percent and 0.22 percent respectively.
周二A股股市集体收跌，沪指跌1.1%，深成指下跌0.69%。行业板块多数收跌，钢铁、煤炭、石油、有色等周期板块领跌。港股恒生指数跌0.22%。
