People's Bank of China (PBOC) said on Monday that it will maintain the stability of monetary policy and make it more forward-looking and effective, to render strong support to the real economy while avoiding a ""flood-like"" stimulus in a quarterly report on monetary policy. The central bank will coordinate macroeconomic policies for 2021 and 2022, boost high-quality development with moderate monetary growth, and support the continuous recovery of small and medium-sized firms as well as industries in difficulties.
8月9日，中国人民银行发布《2021年第二季度中国货币政策执行报告》，央行表示，下一阶段，中国人民银行将统筹做好今明两年宏观政策衔接，保持货币政策稳定性，增强前瞻性、有效性，既有力支持实体经济，又坚决不搞“大水漫灌”，以适度的货币增长支持经济高质量发展，助力中小企业和困难行业持续恢复，保持经济运行在合理区间。
Shanghai education authorities have canceled final exams in English and prohibited primary schools from carrying out midterm exams, marking the latest of a range of new measures sweeping China designed to reduce the academic burden on young students. Primary schoolers should be only given finals for Chinese and mathematics, while other subjects will be evaluated without giving specific test scores.
上海市教委印发《上海市中小学2021学年度课程计划及其说明的通知》，为校内考试“降温”，要求小学阶段不进行期中考，期末考察仅限语文、数学两门学科；并严禁学校组织中小学生参加任何形式、任何范围的联考或月考。
China's total imports and exports expanded 24.5 percent year on year to 21.34 trillion yuan (about 3.3 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first seven months of the year, a consecutive growth for 14 months, data from the General Administration of Customs showed. In July alone, the country's imports and exports rose 11.5 percent year on year to 3.27 trillion yuan.

Chinese mainland reported 108 new local cases yesterday, including 50 from Jiangsu Province and 37 from Henan. Yangzhou in Jiangsu province recorded 48 cases yesterday. The city is stepping up efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic and began the 5th round of nucleic acid testing. Beijing also announced a state of emergency and canceled any large-scale exhibitions in the capital city this month.

China issued sweeping new regulations for credit rating businesses. The rules require companies to score creditworthiness based on the probability of default and reduce the proportion of highly rated bond issuers to a “reasonable range,” enabling investors to better differentiate among bonds. The rules also require that rating bureaus do more to avoid conflicts of interest, urging them to strengthen efforts to insulate credit rating departments from other operations.
近日，央行等五部门联合发布《关于促进债券市场信用评级行业健康发展的通知》。《通知》要求信用评级机构应当长期构建以违约率为核心的评级质量验证机制，制定实施方案，使投资者能够更好地区分债券。《通知》还要求完善信用评级机构公司内部治理和内部控制机制，坚守评级独立性。
Qinghai Salt Lake Industry resumed listing today after more than a year of suspension. Riding the wave of lithium heat, shares of the company spiked a historic 306 percent to close at 35.9 yuan, since the first trading day set no limit. The listed company had gone through judicial re-organization and retained its core business of potassium and lithium trading after being suspended in May last year due to three consecutive years of negative net income.

ByteDance, owner of the short-video sensation TikTok, denied a report that said it had revived its plans for an IPO with a potential listing in Hong Kong. Media reported on Sunday that the Beijing-based company was planning to list in either the fourth quarter of this year or early 2022. Yet the company denied it and reiterated that it has no plan for an IPO now, citing that the group has not yet qualified to go public.

Lei Jun, CEO of China’s smartphone maker Xiaomi will give a public speech at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Xiaomi is expected to unveil two of the company's most hotly-awaited products: the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Mix 4 smartphone.

China’s foreign currency reserves rose to the highest level in more than five years at the end of July, driven by stronger non-U.S. dollar currencies. The reserves rose 0.68 percent month-on-month to 3.236 trillion U.S. dollars at the end of July, up 21.9 billion dollars from a month earlier, marking the highest level since December 2015, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).
