Why are jazz musicians called Cats?
关于爵士音乐家被叫作“Cats”的原因，民间各有各的说法。有人说，爵士音乐家就如同“猫”一般，昼伏夜出，体态轻盈灵动，总是依靠自己的本事存活，并且对社会的态度有些轻微的漠然；还有人说，因为“猫叫（the cats meow）”在美国俗语中代表着最好的质量、最好的演奏家、或是人们最想要的东西；又有传说，这个称谓是Louis Armstrong曾经对他同伴们的昵称。不论是何种原因，“Cats”至今都是独属爵士音乐家们互相间的亲昵称呼，而“猫”这一动人生物，更是许多爵士音乐家的心头宝贝。
