China's foreign trade recovery continued in the first half of 2022, with the country's total imports and exports expanding 9.4 percent year-on-year, underlying a steady overall economic rebound amid the government's policy package to stabilise the economy while putting COVID-19 flare-ups under control through targeted measures.
In the first six months, the country's total imports and exports came in at 19.8 trillion yuan, with exports reaching 11.14 trillion yuan, surging 13.2 percent on a yearly basis, while the imports valued at 8.66 trillion yuan, growing 4.8 percent from a year ago, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Wednesday.
During the period, China’s trade with its top three trading partners – the ASEAN, the EU, and the US – expanded by 10.6 percent, 7.5 percent, and 11.7 percent from a year ago, respectively. China’s trade with Belt and Road countries jumped 17.8 percent year-on-year.
China’s foreign trade reported a remarkable rebound in the past two months, growing by 14.3 percent in June, as foreign trade companies, especially those in the Yangtze River Delta region, resume manufacturing and production in an orderly fashion, Customs said.
The sharp drop in international shipping freight costs over the last several weeks, along with the stable Chinese yuan, has also resulted in an increase in overseas orders to Chinese companies.
Entering the second half of the year, China's trade faces increasing uncertainties and the situation remains to be complex and grim, the Ministry of Commerce told a press briefing last week, citing businesses' concerns over export prospect, as the global economic growth rate decelerates due to geopolitical tensions and some developed economies' sizeable interest rate hikes. Despite the challenges, however, the long-term positive fundamentals in trade remain unchanged due to a solid foundation.
5月份以来，随着国内疫情防控形势总体向好，各项稳增长政策效应逐渐显现，外贸企业复工复产有序推进，特别是长三角等地区进出口快速恢复，带动全国外贸整体增速明显回升。
海关总署7月13日在国新办新闻发布会上表示，据海关统计，今年上半年我国货物贸易进出口总值19.8万亿元人民币，同比增长9.4%。其中，出口11.14万亿元，增长13.2%；进口8.66万亿元，增长4.8%。
上半年，我国对主要贸易伙伴进出口保持增长。我国对东盟、欧盟、美国进出口贸易分别同比增长了10.6%、7.5%和11.7%。同期，我国对“一带一路”沿线国家进出口也增长了17.8%。
海关总署发言人表示，5、6月份外贸增速明显回升，特别是长三角等地区进出口快速恢复，带动全国外贸整体增速明显回升。6月份我国外贸进出口同比增长14.3%。
与此同时，解除隔离后，上海外贸目前已进入快速恢复轨道，连接长三角地区的产业链和供应链已基本恢复。过去几周，集装箱运费大幅回落，再加上人民币汇率稳定，中国企业海外订单量也有所增加。
在外贸形势好转的诸多原因中，外贸纾困政策发挥了重要作用。今年以来，根据国务院推动外贸保稳提质等工作部署，海关总署专门出台了促进外贸保稳提质十条措施和进一步助企纾困降成本若干措施，全力支持外贸稳增长。
总的来看，上半年我国外贸进出口展现出较强的韧性，一季度平稳开局，为全年外贸保稳提质打下了坚实的基础。
当前，新冠肺炎疫情和国际环境更趋严峻复杂，我国外贸发展仍面临一些不稳定不确定因素，但随着国家稳经济一揽子政策措施的落地见效，我国外贸仍有望继续保持稳定增长。

The Chinese aviation market is experiencing a strong recovery, with flight numbers in July exceeding 10,000 per day, the Chinese civil aviation regulator said on Tuesday, highlighting that on July 8 and 10 the country witnessed more than 12,000 flights, recovering to 65 percent of pre-epidemic levels, contributed by the resumption of domestic and international flight services of a number of international carriers. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) will also inject 11 billion yuan into three state-owned airlines and an airport operator to help support the embattled sector.

Shenzhen’s 24 banks have opened 12,560 accounts under a pilot program that allows cross-border investment in wealth management products (WMPs) in the Greater Bay Area, with account holders wiring 404 million yuan of cross-border funds and making 237 million yuan of transactions by the end of June, local banking regulator said Tuesday.
深圳“跨境理财通”资金跨境汇划超4亿：深圳银保监局12日表示，截至今年6月末，深圳辖区共有24家银行获得“跨境理财通”试点资格，共开立相关账户12560个，办理资金跨境汇划合计4.04亿元，双向投资产品交易额2.37亿元。
Some Chinese lenders including the state-owned ICBC and BOCOM have completed dividend payment as of Tuesday, with several other major banks finishing in the week. In 2021, the total dividends of 40 listed banks reached 545 billion yuan, led by ICBC who distributed over 100 billion yuan with shareholders. The total dividends of the six state-owned banks reached 383 billion yuan, accounting for 70 percent of the dividend combined by 40 A-share listed banks.

Chinese banks were fined 1.1 billion yuan from 3,856 penalties by regulators in the first six months for a string of offences, most of which had to do with the unlawful redirecting of loans into the property market and anti-money laundering breaches, according to an industry compliance report on Monday, with ICBC being the biggest offender who was fined 62.7 million yuan.

Chinese stocks rose slightly on Wednesday as renewed lockdown worries are trimming growth forecasts. The Shanghai Composite gained 0.09 percent and the Shenzhen Component was up 0.56 percent. The Hang Seng Index closed 0.22 percent lower, while the TECH Index gained 0.51 percent.
